      NOTE:
If feeding more than the suggested amount of hay or horse is grazing unlimited pasture, reduce the recommended amount of concentrate feed.

Start with the amounts given for the weight and lifestyle of the horse.  After observing the horse for a period of time, the amount fed may be increased or decreased by 10% to obtain the desired body condition and weight.

Feeding rates recommended for concentrate feeds are based on feeding with good quality grass hay. If using good quality alfalfa hay, reduce the amount of Purina feed recommended by 1/2 to 1 lb/day.

Make feed changes gradually over 7-10 days. Clean, fresh water and salt should be available at all times.

      * When feeding hay along with a complete feed, reduce amount of feed by approximately 1 lb of feed for every 2-3 lbs of hay offered. If feeding less than 0.6 lbs per 100 lbs body weight daily, then supplement ration with Enrich Plus or Free Balance 12:12 mineral.

** Refer to gray window for lbs/day of hay to be offered with recommended amount of feed. If feeding more than the suggested amount of hay, reduce the amount of concentrate by approximately 1 lb feed for every 2 lbs of hay above recommendation.
